BASSETERRE, St. Kitts: On Friday 5th July 2019, the Rotary Club of Liamuiga and its sponsored club, the Rotaract Club of Nevis, held a joint Installation Dinner & Ceremony at the Railway Bar and Grill in Old Road to start the 2019-2020 Rotary Year. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Rotarian Carlton Pogson.
Following a wonderful dinner, Outgoing President, Ms Natasha St. Juste delivered a speech highlighting her accomplishments over the past 2018-2019 Rotary year. Among the highlights, Immediate Past president Natasha noted the Club’s Annual primary School Spelling Bee competition which continues to grow in popularity each year, the National Heroes Day Luncheon with the elderly of the Saddlers community, the Christmas Hamper initiative, and the return of the Make-A-Wish initiative. Also, highlighted was the Club’s move to a new meeting place at the Ocean terrace Inn.
The Installation Ceremony was then conducted by Assistant Governor for Rotary District 7030, Mrs Frances-Ann Satney. An attorney by profession, Ms Deniece Alleyne was duly installed as the new President of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga and Mr. Kris Liburd, also an attorney, was duly installed as the President of the Rotaract Club of Nevis. Both presidents rendered brief remarks about their vision to serve the community.

 President Deniece becomes the seventh (7th) female president in the Rotary Club of Liamuiga’s 16 year existence; a testimony to the Club’s diversity and inclusivity.
In her inaugural address to the audience at the Installation dinner, President Deniece welcomed the challenges of the Rotary Year ahead and fittingly summed up the true Rotarian spirit, stating, “We all know the problems in our society and talk about them but Rotary gives us the opportunity to do more than just talk.”
