Basseterre, St. Kitts – On 24 October 2018, the Rotary Club of Liamuiga (RCL) presented to the JNF Hospital two duffel bags with medical supplies.

The exchange was made possible through the kind donation from the AFYA foundation of America out of Yonkers, New York. AFYA provides an environmentally-sensitive, community-oriented solution to help address the critical shortage of medical supplies in communities around the world.         

AFYA’s Luggage for Life program offers yet another way to get essential medical supplies to health systems. Over 1500 Luggage for Life Duffel Bags Have Been Delivered Worldwide!

President Natasha St Juste handed over medical supplies which included IV starter kits, IV with needles, Gauze, butterfly needles and many more medical supplies. One duffel bag of supplies changes and saves lives!

Present at the handing over ceremony were RCL Secretary Ms. Kaii Mills-Dias, Medical Chief of Staff Dr. Cameron Wilkinson, JNF Operations Manager Ms. Gail Cranston, JNF Service Education Coordinator Nurse Louise Morris, Nurse Manager Nurse Bernadette Jack and from the Emergency Medical Services Mr. Kareem Warner and Ms. Colette Francis. “This donation will go a long way to help anyone who access care at the JNF hospital”, says Dr. Wilkinson.

The Rotary Club of Liamuiga (RCL) is a service club which provides support and services in many areas within the communities throughout the Federation of St Kitts & Nevis.  The Club undertakes various projects to serve the needs of our children, youths and the elderly through youth activities, vocational development and community outreach.
