Basseterre, St. Kitts – The Rotary Club of Liamuiga and the Rotary Club of St. Kitts will jointly host District 7030 Governor Mr Elwin Atmodimedjo of the Rotary Club Paramaribo Residence (Suriname). Rotary’s District 7030 includes the islands of the Eastern Caribbean as well as Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. 
 
District Governor Elwin and his wife Maureene Atmodimedjo will visit the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis from January 9-13, 2015. As part of his visit to the Federation, District Governor Elwin will participate in meetings and fellowships with the 2 local Rotary Clubs. This visit comes at an opportune time in the Rotary year as January is celebrated as Rotary Awareness Month by all clubs throughout the world each year.
 
Upon completion of high school, IBM Suriname offered him an IT-scholarship. In 1986 he went to Holland to work and study in the field of information and communications technology (ICT). From 1999 until 2003 Elwin was Managing Director of IBM Suriname. In March 2003 he started his own company called SolveIT NV. SolveIt is the leading company in delivering financial transaction, ATM and POS solutions to the Banks and other financial institutions in Suriname.
 
District Governor Elwin is a charter member of his Rotary Club Paramaribo Residence and has served as Sergeant-At-Arms (2002-2003) and President of the Club (2004-2005). He has served 3 terms as Assistant Governor from 2008-2009, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. 
 
Inspired by their eldest son Matthew, who has autism, District Governor Elwin and his wife started research on the subject of autism and in 2004 they co-founded the CONECTO Foundation, a private NGO helping families of children with autism and learning difficulties.
 
During his 4 day visit, District Governor Elwin will also pay courtesy calls on His Excellency the Governor-General Sir Edmund Lawrence and Prime Minister the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil L. Douglas. He will also tour both islands.
