SADDLERS, St. Kitts: On Monday 16th September 2019, members of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga visited the Saddlers Home for the Elderly for its annual luncheon with the residents of the home and seniors from the surrounding communities. The Rotarians look forward to this event every year.

Club members prepared various local dishes and served the elderly whom they all affectionately call their ‘unsung heroes’. In addition to the delicious meal, musical entertainment was provided by Mr. Anthony Bartley who played the keyboard and sang popular gospel, soca and reggae songs. Some of the elderly persons and Rotarians were able to take part in the entertainment as the microphone floated around for opportunities to sing.

Ms Ann Wigley, director of Community Development, thanked the Rotarians for their steadfast support of the Home and for the annual luncheon event.

President of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga, Ms Deniece Alleyne, in presenting a kettle to the supervisor of the Home, Ms Frances Madir, praised all the elderly persons for attending and fellowshipping with Club members. President Deniece also reaffirmed the Club’s promise to continue to support the Home in any way possible for many years to come.
Previous donations to the Saddlers Home by the Rotary Club of Liamuiga include a television, washing machine, sheet sets and standing fans.
Upcoming projects for the Rotary Club of Liamuiga include the annual Primary School Spelling Bee and the Christmas Hamper Distribution.
