Rotary Club of Liamuiga Inducts Two New Members
 
 
FRIGATE BAY, St. Kitts: On Thursday 12th December 2019, the Rotary Club of Liamuiga inducted Ms. Alicia Dugay and Dr Chanella Nisbett into its membership during the Club’s Christmas Social.

The backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean from the Terrace at St Kitts Marriott Resort, provided the ideal ambiance for the intimate induction ceremony. Following a Rotary charge and oath, Ms. Dugay and Dr Nisbett were officially pinned by President Deniece Alleyne.

The two new members will be great assets to the Rotary Club of Liamuiga with the background of law and medicine. Ms Dugay has over 14 years of experience in the legal field and is currently employed at the Ministry of Justice, Legal Affairs and Communications. Dr Nisbett, is a Junior Doctor at the Joseph N France General Hospital. She recently graduated from the Latin American School of Medicine, La Habana, Cuba.

Following the induction ceremony, longstanding member, Director Tashna Powell-Williams received a Paul Harris Fellow Award. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of US$1,000 to The Rotary Foundation. Notable Paul Harris Fellows include Mother Teresa, U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Russian President Boris Yeltsin, U.S. astronaut James Lovell, UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar, and polio vaccine developer Jonas Salk.

The Club will end 2019 with its signature fundraising event, the Annual New Year’s Charity Ball on 31st December. Entertainment will feature David Rudder live in-concert, the Bacchanalist Crew and ‘magic Fingers’ Ronnie Rascal.
