BASSETERRE, St. Kitts:  For the second consecutive year, the Rotary Club of Liamuiga Primary School Competition has co-champions. Emerging victorious were Ms Kaylia Charles of the Tucker-Clarke Primary School and Mr Khalil Burroughs of the George Moody Stuart School.
 
On 17th October 2019, the ECCB Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium was filled with supporters from various schools. After the first 5 rounds of great spelling, the top 12 spellers advanced to the Elimination Rounds. Kaylia and Khalil remained after 20 rounds of intense spelling and were then declared co-champions as per the competition rules.
 
The two Spelling Bee champs received a lovely trophy (compliments Warner’s One Stop), EC$750, Seven Seas and Fruta products (compliments RAM’s), cases of Dasani water (compliments KOSCAB), cases of Smalta (compliments Carib Brewery) and TDC, Balloon Boutique and Harper’s Office Depot gift vouchers. The winning schools and teachers who assisted the spellers with their preparations also received cash awards. The third place speller Mr Aijalon Connor of the Edgar T Morris Primary School also received cash and in-kind prizes. All spellers received Rotary Club of Liamuiga certificates of participation, refreshments and goodie bags compliments of RAM’S Supermarket and vouchers compliments of Balloon Boutique.
